PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY:

My objective is to help my students to open their bodies and let the asanas (poses) flower from the inside, rather than impose or force them from the outside. My instruction is challenging, yet not straining, with the focus on the breath and the way the asanas feel on an innate, sustained, and personal level. The atmosphere in each class is one of flow and deep release. I encourage students to use their own inner resources, such as their breathing and internal awareness to make each class fully enjoyable for themselves. Students have noticed and reported back with the following effects after taking my yoga classes:

A great night’s sleep; increased concentration; heightened joy and appreciation of life; better posture; more comfortable back, easier pregnancy, labor and delivery; less aches and pains; and a deeper sense of self-acceptance.

TESTIMONIALS:

"I would highly recommend Jennifer as a Yoga Instructor in any setting, but most especially in a hospital setting, where her extensive knowledge of yoga and health concerns are a wonderful asset to members and employees alike."

Anne Marie Hallada,
Director of Health Education
Kaiser Permanente, Santa Clara, CA

"Haydon creates a very calm and focused atmosphere that allows people to work at their own level.  Her soothing voice and helpful instruction encourage students to strive for their personal goals without straining their bodies."

In Context

"I am eternally grateful for Jennifer’s prenatal yoga class and her coaching during the birth of my second child.  I did not practice yoga during my first pregnancy and experienced such an easier second pregnancy and delivery with the help of prenatal yoga.  Yoga helped me cope with, and even enjoy, the changes my body and mind were experiencing during my pregnancy."

Susan Peters,
Mother & Homemaker

"I have been a teacher for almost 30 years and I have been a teacher evaluator for a long time, Jennifer is an excellent teacher.  Many teachers know their subject, but only a small number have the insight and personality to make that a gift for someone else.  Keep up the good work Jennifer!"

Jim Urhausen, Counseling Dept.
Chair & Summer Principal
Bellarmine College Preparatory
